Esther graduated from University at Buffalo with Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and started off her career as a critical care hema-oncology nurse in Buffalo, NY. From there she fell into the world of EMR and became a healthcare informatics instructor. After a quick wake up call and getting her heart broken after witnessing lack of healthcare both national and internationally first hand – she started at Yale School of Nursing in fall 2015 in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program. She is excited to have this opportunity to further dive into the research world and has been awarded a Yale President’s Public Service Fellowship for 2015 summer and will be working with Fair Haven Community Center as well.

Esther volunteered with the InterGEN Study from fall 2014 to spring 2016, during her graduate studies at YSN.  After her graduation from YSN in May 2016, she began working as a research assistant on Dr. Taylor’s multiple other projects and we are so glad she was able to continue her work with the research team.

Now, after becoming a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Esther is off to complete a FNP Residency Program at International Community Health Services in Seattle, WA.  We are so proud of Esther and wish her well on the West coast!  Thank you so much for all your hard work on the project, Esther.
