InterGEN at STTI Nursing Research Congress 2017 in Dublin, Ireland

InterGEN current and former team members Drs. Jackie Taylor, Veronica Barcelona de Mendoza and Michelle Wright traveled to the Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) Nursing Research Congress  in Dublin, Ireland in July 2017 to present a symposium entitled “Psychological Stress and Multi-Omics Interactions on Health Disparities among African Americans.”

The three presentations for the symposium included:
1) The Combined Effects of Genetic Risk and Perceived Discrimination on Blood Pressure among African Americans in the Jackson Heart Study (Taylor)
2) Effects of Perceived Discrimination and DNAm Status on Blood Pressure among African American Women (Barcelona de Mendoza)
3) Parenting Stress and DNAm among African Americans in the InterGEN study (Wright)
