Congratulations to Dr. Veronica Barcelona de Mendoza, who has been selected from a national pool of candidates to attend the Summer Genetics Institute (SGI) this June at the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) in Bethesda, MD. The SGI will provide nursing graduate students, faculty, and clinicians with an exceptional foundation in molecular genetics to use in their future research, clinical practice and teaching activities. This intensive 4-week program will include both classroom and laboratory components. Dr. Barcelona de Mendoza was chosen for this highly competitive and prestigious program based on her potential for a highly productive research or clinical career. The tuition-free program is administered by the Foundation for Advanced Education in the Sciences (FAES) and is sponsored by NINR.
